Panattoni BTS officially commences the construction of a new production plant for ZREW Transformatory S.A. in Łódź. The investment worth CHF 25 million (approx. PLN 115 million) is a milestone for the power transformers segment: it will allow the company to double its production capacity and create 200 new jobs. The symbolic laying of the foundation stone took place on November 21, 2025.&nbsp;The ceremony was attended by: Adam Pustelnik – First Deputy Mayor of the City of Łódź, Eduardo Terzi – President of the Management Board of R&amp;S Group,&nbsp;Grzegorz Sołtysiak – President of the Management Board of ZREW Transformatory S.A., Marek Foryński – Managing Director at Panattoni BTS, representatives of the general contractor – Dekpol Budownictwo, as well as advisors from JLL, as well as other business partners and invited guests.<blockquote>"We are delighted to take another strategic step on the path of further development, increasing our commitment to innovation and supporting the transformation of the energy sector towards renewable energy," said Eduardo Terzi, CEO of R&amp;S Group, the Swiss capital group of which ZREW Transformatory is a part.</blockquote>The new investment meets the expectations of customers – with doubled production, all quality criteria will be ensured, and at the same time the power and voltage of the manufactured transformers will be increased, to 160 MVA and 220 kV.<blockquote>"We believe that the cooperation with Panattoni BTS will allow us to complete the construction of the factory before the end of the summer holidays and start production at the turn of the third and fourth quarter of 2026," said Grzegorz Sołtysiak, President of the Management Board of ZREW Transformatory S.A.&nbsp;He added: "When choosing the location, we wanted the new factory to be built in Łódź, where ZREW has its roots and where we have a competent and experienced staff, as well as partners and subcontractors. We also cooperate with the Lodz University of Technology in the area of our product development and we are happy to employ engineers educated by the Lodz University of Technology. Ultimately, we intend to employ about 200 people in the new factory, of which at least 25 percent will be engineers and specialists with higher education."</blockquote>In connection with the development of its business, the company plans to hire qualified technicians, engineers, sales specialists and production line managers. The investment is covered by public support in the Łódź Special Economic Zone.<blockquote>"We are satisfied that such a significant investment is being carried out in Łódź – a city with an industrial tradition, with which ZREW has been associated since the very beginning of its activity, i.e. for almost 70 years. In recent years, our city has become one of the most dynamically developing production and logistics centers in Poland. Cooperation with investors and partners such as ZREW Transformatory and Panattoni confirms that we are able to create conditions conducive to the development of modern industry. Such projects strengthen the local labour market and develop the technological competences of the entire region" – said Adam Pustelnik, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Łódź.</blockquote>Preparations for the investment were preceded by a multi-stage process of analysis and selection of the location, in which ZREW Transformatory S.A. was supported by JLL experts – from market research to negotiation of the terms of the project. The facility will be one of the most modern power transformer production plants in Europe, designed for very demanding assembly and testing processes. The investment includes a production hall and an office and social part and is being implemented in a build-to-suit formula.<blockquote>"The factory for ZREW Transformators is one of the projects that best shows what our philosophy of cooperation with the industry is. It is a facility with a high degree of technical complexity, requiring close coordination with the customer and a perfect understanding of their processes. The specificity of the product – the considerable size and huge weight of transformers, reaching up to 200 tons, determine the use of a number of non-standard solutions. In addition, the plant will be equipped, among m.in, with high-voltage test chambers with electromagnetic protection systems or a non-standard dryer for transformer components. Together, we are creating a factory that will combine advanced engineering with care for the environment and comfort of work," said Marek Foryński, Managing Director at Panattoni BTS.</blockquote>The hall will have a varied height – up to 20 m and is being built on 15 technological foundations with a load capacity of up to 1600 tons, including the deepest one located 4 meters below the ground surface. The floor will provide a load capacity of up to 210 tons – a value about 40 times higher than in standard warehouse halls.&nbsp;The investment is being built in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and will be certified in the BREEAM system at a high Excellent level.
