<h1>In early February 2026, DSV – Global Transport and Logistics commenced operations at its new warehouse in Krzyżowice near Wrocław. In just 3 months, specialists from the world's largest logistics operator launched a distribution centre at this location, handling cross-border operations for nearly all of Europe and key marketplace platforms.</h1><h2>What's Next? Ambitious Growth Plans</h2>At the facility located in close proximity to the capital of Lower Silesia, DSV currently operates 45,000 sq m of total space. Across 24,000 sq m, the world's largest operator has prepared and implemented comprehensive 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations on behalf of a client from the home appliances sector.<blockquote>"We are one of the key logistics centres for our client in Europe. This means we receive, among other things, sea containers. Our staff not only unload them but also sort products that arrive in bulk," explains Adam Zawadzki, Operations Manager of the Krzyżowice warehouse, DSV – Global Transport and Logistics. "In Krzyżowice, we provide full-service operations – from goods receiving to coordinating shipments to the largest business customers across Europe and to warehouses managed by operators of key eCommerce platforms. To illustrate the scale of operations, we manage the flow of 1,500 to 2,000 pallets daily."</blockquote>The DSV team performs a range of value-added services according to the client's current needs, including repacking, palletisation, creating special product sets, and labelling goods in accordance with individual market requirements. The Danish operator is also responsible for comprehensive coordination and execution of road transport within distribution operations. Besides Poland, shipments from Wrocław are dispatched to customers in Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Benelux countries, France, Italy, and Spain. Plans include adding further destinations.<h2>Technology That Drives Efficiency</h2>The facility stands out across Europe thanks to its unique solutions. The warehouse utilises rarely seen VNA double-deep reach trucks with double forks and dedicated double-deep racking systems. This combination has enabled a doubling of available storage capacity.<blockquote>"We estimate that the double-deep solution, combined with reducing aisle widths to 1.9 metres, has increased storage density by 20-30% compared to a warehouse based on a traditional layout," notes Adam Zawadzki, DSV. "The key to unlocking the full potential of this solution is synchronising it with digital systems. For example, dedicated systems ensure that only one forklift can enter a single aisle at any given time. This seemingly small functionality has reduced the risk of operator collisions to virtually zero."</blockquote>Additionally, DSV has designed and implemented a series of overlays for the electronic Warehouse Management System (WMS). Key functionalities include automatic allocation of picking tasks without the need to print documents, a proprietary overlay for remote task prioritisation, and a "follow the leader" mechanism that groups orders into cohesive storage zones. Currently being implemented is an innovative "double play" module, which uses triangulation techniques to minimise empty forklift travel. The system automatically assigns tasks so that a pallet is always on the forks – both on the way to the racking and in the opposite direction.<h2>DSV Accelerates Near Wrocław</h2><blockquote>"Thanks to the intensive work of the entire team and close cooperation with the client, we are already handling 30,000 pallet locations in Krzyżowice, and this number will soon increase to 45,000. What's more, not only have we taken over coordination of distribution for most European markets – we are currently in discussions with the client about additional ones. I believe this is the best testament to DSV's professionalism and service quality," says Małgorzata Gołębiowska, Customer Service Manager at the Krzyżowice branch.</blockquote>The success of operations in Krzyżowice is further proof of western Poland's attractiveness as a location for pan-European distribution centres. In response to growing demand, the Danish logistics operator will take over management of 60,000 sq m of modern space by the end of 2026 as part of the Wrocław Campus 2 project.<blockquote>"Wrocław Campus 2 is a strategic investment by Panattoni in Lower Silesia, designed with large-scale international logistics and distribution operations in mind. The speed at which DSV launched operations here, and the scale of the processes being handled, clearly demonstrate this location's potential and Poland's growing role in European supply chains. The ability to serve multiple markets from a single distribution centre while rapidly scaling operations is now one of the key advantages of modern logistics infrastructure," says Damian Kowalczyk, Regional Managing Director, Lower Silesia at Panattoni.</blockquote>The rapid launch of a large distribution centre by DSV is now a key differentiator in the market. In 2025, demand for warehouse space in Poland remained at a very high level, reaching 6.8 million sq m (of which approximately 48.5% were new leases), but new supply slowed significantly. Only 1.8 million sq m remained under construction, the lowest level since 2020. With limited availability of new facilities, the ability to rapidly launch operations in a completed, technologically advanced centre is becoming a real competitive advantage for logistics operators.This is why locations that already offer the appropriate scale and infrastructure to handle large volumes are gaining in importance. Wrocław and its surroundings rank among Poland's five largest logistics hubs, with stock exceeding 5.2 million sq m of modern space. This is one of the regions where the largest projects capable of handling international goods flows and further expansion are being implemented. From the perspective of companies using logistics operator services, such a location enables the integration of warehouse processes with international transport while maintaining competitive operational costs compared to Western European markets.<blockquote>"The delivery of the next phase of Wrocław Campus 2 demonstrates that the development of such projects is increasingly focused on mature locations with proven potential. For large logistics operators, decisions regarding further growth are now based on continuity and stability of operations. Expansion through subsequent phases of existing developments allows risks to be mitigated, future volumes to be planned more quickly, and changing customer needs to be better addressed," comments Ewa Graff, Associate Director, Industrial Agency, JLL.</blockquote>Located 20 km from Wrocław city centre, adjacent to the A4 and A8 motorways, the facility provides excellent road connections to major centres in Poland and the European Union.
