Greenyard Logistics Poland marks a construction milestone at its first warehouse development in southern Poland, scheduled for completion by the end of the year.The ceremonial laying of the first structural pillar of a modern cold‑storage logistics centre in Gliwice was attended by representatives of the developer Marq (formerly GLP), project investor Merity Funds, general contractor BREMER Polska, JLL advisors, and the Greenyard team.<h2>A new standard in cold‑chain logistics for the Silesian region</h2>The new warehouse in Gliwice represents a strategic investment by Greenyard Logistics Poland, responding to the growing demand for professional temperature‑controlled logistics services in southern Poland. The facility has been designed for operations requiring precise temperature and humidity control, which is particularly critical in food logistics.<blockquote>"Gliwice perfectly complements our existing network. Southern Poland is a region with strong economic potential, and Gliwice’s central location in the heart of Silesia enables us to efficiently serve both the local market and cross‑border distribution. This investment will allow us to better meet the growing expectations of customers across the region," comments&nbsp;Radosław Nowak, Managing Director of Greenyard Logistics Poland.</blockquote><h2>Advanced technology for demanding operations</h2>The facility will feature two independent box‑in‑box freezer chambers and three blast‑freezing chambers, enabling simultaneous servicing of multiple customers and product types while ensuring full process separation&nbsp;— a key requirement for food companies operating under different certification standards. An advanced ammonia‑glycol refrigeration system with dehumidification, a modern defrosting system, and enhanced thermal insulation will provide optimal storage conditions even for the most sensitive goods. The floor will be prepared for mobile racking systems, maximizing storage capacity.<blockquote>Igor Nowaczyk, Commercial Director of Greenyard Logistics Poland explains:&nbsp; "We designed this facility to serve multiple customers simultaneously, offering each a comprehensive range of services — from goods receipt and blast freezing, through long‑term storage, to co‑packing and distribution. It is a turnkey solution for companies that want to focus on their core business while entrusting cold‑chain logistics to specialists."&nbsp;</blockquote>The facility will also be equipped with an 800 kWp rooftop photovoltaic installation. Energy‑efficient cooling systems using ammonia as a natural refrigerant will help reduce both operating costs and the carbon footprint of the operation.<h2>Location at the heart of industrial Silesia</h2>The selection of Gliwice as Greenyard’s fourth location in Poland followed a detailed analysis of market needs and customer expectations conducted in cooperation with JLL’s advisory team. Its central position in one of the country’s most industrialized regions provides access to a dense customer base and excellent transport infrastructure. Proximity to the A1 and A4 motorways, as well as national roads, enables efficient distribution both within the Silesian agglomeration and to major cities across southern Poland.Gliwice also plays an important role in serving Central European markets. Its relatively short distance from the Czech and Slovak borders makes the location attractive for companies engaged in cross‑border operations or serving customers in these countries.The new development complements Greenyard’s existing facilities in Gdańsk, Poznań, and Warsaw, ensuring the company’s presence in southern Poland as well. For customers, this means access to a full range of cold‑chain logistics services&nbsp;- from temperature‑controlled storage and blast freezing to co‑packing&nbsp;- in a region with strong economic potential and excellent domestic and international connectivity.<blockquote>"We analysed dozens of locations across southern Poland, assessing not only standard logistics criteria such as motorway access and proximity to customers, but also the specific technical requirements of cold‑storage facilities. Greenyard needed infrastructure capable of serving multiple independent customers simultaneously, with blast‑freezing chambers requiring significantly higher cooling capacity than standard warehouses. The negotiated terms enabled the project to be delivered in a location that offers tangible benefits to Greenyard’s customers – shorter delivery times to Silesia, Małopolska and Central European markets, as well as lower transport costs," says Kazimierz Piotrowski, Senior Consultant, Industrial Agency, JLL.&nbsp;</blockquote>Following the launch of the Gliwice warehouse, Greenyard Logistics Poland’s network will comprise four strategic locations across Poland – Gdańsk, Poznań, Warsaw, and Gliwice – providing nationwide coverage and access to a full spectrum of cold‑chain logistics services in the country’s key economic regions.The first phase of the facility is scheduled for delivery in Q4 2026 and will include Greenyard’s operational space as well as 8,000 sq m of modern warehouse space available for lease at this stage. The logistics park also allows for the development of an additional 20,000 sq m in future phases.
